Try to start the game and exit the vault. Open this file with a texteditor such as notepad and find the following line and change its value bDoHighDynamicRange=0 to bDoHighDynamicRange=1 Go to the installationfolder of your game and locate the file FalloutPrefs.ini this file might be located in the submap Fallout3. My best guess would be to try and alter some settings in the game. Keep in mind that if any NPCs nearby see you, they’ll attack you and probably wake up your victim before you get a chance to feed.įor more information, see UESP’s article on vampirism.

To feed, you need to find a sleeping NPC, sneak up to them, and activate the NPC while you’re sneaking. To stop people from attacking you, feed on someone at least every three days from now on. If you usually play with the DLCs installed and aren’t in the habit of feeding, that could explain why you’re getting unexpectedly attacked without the DLCs. The Dawnguard DLC changed this, such that the player is never attacked for being a vampire except when you’re in Vampire Lord form, even if you don’t feed at all. So if you haven’t fed on anyone in at least three days, that’s probably why everyone is attacking you. If you don’t have Dawnguard installed, stage four vampires are attacked on sight. Every day that you don’t feed, you advance to the next stage. When you become a vampire, you start at stage one. Along the way you end up becoming a critical part of the project and carry your father's vision - you basically adopt his goal as your own. He leaves the vault without warning in order to regroup the original project's team and restart the project.Īt this point you end up leaving the vault and starting the quest to find your father and sort out what's happening. You end up becoming old enough to fend for yourself, and in the end it is apparent that your father has made an important discovery as a result of his in-vault research. This is also a bonus for your father as he can use the vault's equipment to further his own research.

When the player character is born, the mother dies and the father gains entry to a vault in order to bring the child up in an environment with some sort of "normality" (and away from the harsh and unforgiving wasteland). Obviously the rest this answer is just one massive big spoiler, so reader beware!Įssentially, your father in the game was originally working on the foundation of Project Purity - purifying the wasteland's water of radiation. Taking time to listen to holotapes and talk to NPCs is a great way to get an understanding of what's happening, and has happened, in the game world. So I'll leave deciding on what is proper etiquette to those that are actual affected by it.The story is developed throughout the main quest and answers these questions. I respect modders such as yourself and DarN for the work you do and sharing it with the community. Just my two cents.īut I'll stop debating this point as it's outside my element (as well as the topic), not being a modder and all.

After all there are tons of mods that do the same things in different ways.
DARNIFIED UI FALLOUT NEW VEGAS CLIPPING MOD
So like I said the best etiquette imho is not to use other peoples files/code without getting permission and crediting them, but if you simply copy the basic idea of their mod that's just competition which is a good thing. Lets just focus on who has the right to the actual work done to achieve those ideas. There are too many people playing this game and having similar ideas to get into arguments over who has the rights to those ideas or who was first. No one person should claim sole rights or credit to ideas like a single page status screen, where HuD elements go, nuke pistol, custom crosshairs, custom pipboy, body replacers, and etc. I disagree here, you shouldn't lay claim to an idea in and of itself but the method to enact that idea, otherwise I'll claim the right to the idea of a flying space dog house. There is still an element of concept/ideas, not only the actual "making" that goes into something, imo.
